A business Forum to discuss Ethiopia's AGOA and WTO Activities |

The two USAID funded projects - VEGA-Ethiopia AGOA Plus Project and the WTO Plus Accession Project - has jointly organized the first Business forum and invited about 100 participants representing the government, private sector associations and companies to attend the forum. The ultimate objective of the Forum is to update the general public on AGOA and WTO activities. The forum is scheduled for March 31st, 2009 from 8:30am-4pm at the Sheraton Addis. |

Ethiopia's "Africa Growth & Opportunities Act+" (AGOA+) Program |
VEGA’s Africa Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA+) program is a two- year export promotion program under the broader trade initiative AGOA, which was signed into law on May 18, 2000. AGOA and all activates under AGOA are designed to offer tangible incentives for African nations to continue their efforts to open their economies and build free and prosperous markets. This program aims to develop and promote Ethiopia’s export market to the United States and other international markets. The program will accomplish this objective through three primary project activities: - Disseminating information to Ethiopian business regarding AGOA opportunities.
- Creating and strengthening business linkages between Ethiopia businesses and the Diaspora community in the US.
- Holding and participating in a series of trade and reverse trade missions for products with a competitive advantage.
